Broadcast info: LVC vs. UMBC 12/10/2010

We regret to inform our fans that the game between UMBC and Lebanon Valley College will not be broadcasted live due to lack of internet resources. We will upload the Fasthockey video to the website on Saturday, and the ustream broadcast will be made available the following day, as well.

Hopefully we will be able to provide twitter information via the UMBC twitter account @umbcicehockey.

Saturday's game versus Penn State will be live on both Fasthockey and Ustream.

We do apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you will watch and/or listen to the game after we post it. And we also hope you will tune in or stop out to the game on Saturday as it is a home game at Piney Orchard Ice Arena in Odenton, Maryland at 8:30p.

Tomorrow night's game, if you are local to the area of Hershey, Pennsylvania, come out to the game at the Giant Center, 7pm.

Apologies

We do apologize for last night's snafu with the internet connection at Piney Orchard Ice Arena. I know many of you were looking forward to the audio broadcast of the game. We're being lead to believe that the Fasthockey.com feed tied up a large portion of the bandwidth on their laptop separate of the one being used for the Ustream.tv feed. Please be patient with us. Hopefully we'll have this resolved tonight for the Monmouth U game. If not then, well definitely by the time the December games begin.

Once again, we are sorry about that last night, and we hope things will work out this evening.

A New Way to Catch Retrievers Hockey!

A new venture into catching UMBC Retrievers hockey was explored this past weekend, and 30 listeners tuned in to catch the Temple U and Rowan U games on Friday and Saturday nights. Ustream.tv was used to broadcast the play-by-play of both exciting games live. We had a bit of shortcomings with internet bandwidth on Friday night to push out the video to Fasthockey.com, so we took a chance (successfully) on a Ustream audio feed to our fans. Saturday night, the Fasthockey broadcast feed rights were given to the home team (Rowan U), and so we went a second night with the Ustream radio style feed. Thank you all for your great feedback and listening.

We look to continue this effort in providing our fans and listeners the most complete coverage of UMBC Retrievers hockey. Please check out the Ustream.tv site:

Games will be recorded and archived in case you miss the live feed. We will try and upload Friday's audio from the Temple U game, and Sunday's Saint Joseph's U game that was not broadcasted due to lack of internet resources. The Fasthockey archived footage should be uploaded by the end of today.
